Kiel's Amerequip to produce automated arms for refuse vehicles

When a garbage truck makes a stop to pick up a refuse container, the mechanical arm that picks up the container needs to work right every time — no matter the container, the location or the weight loads. Amerequip, a Kiel-based designer and manufacturer of custom equipment for the lawn, landscape, agricultural, construction and industrial markets, took on that challenge and is now manufacturing three types of refuse vehicle arms for McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, a division of the Oshkosh Corporation.

Amerequip is producing three distinct types of automated arms for McNeilus refuse vehicles:

  • ZR: Good for tight residential areas; equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
  • AR: One of the strongest side loaders in the industry with an arm lift capacity of 2,000 pounds. It is also the only side-loader in the industry that can reach side-to-side as well as out.
  • MA: A flexible system that includes a manual/automated side loader.
