Habitat for Humanity Home Build Underway in New Holstein  -   Amerequip® leading first Habitat build in the city

(Kiel, Wis.) – The Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity has its first home build underway in the city of New Holstein. Area manufacturer, Amerequip® is the lead corporate sponsor, with the company’s team members supplying all of the volunteer labor for the build.

“This is another great opportunity for us to support and give back to the community that has supported us for more than 100 years,” stated Mike VanderZanden, Amerequip president and CEO. “When we put out the call for volunteers to help, I was proud to see so many team members immediately step forward and sign up. They’re the ones making this happen.” The company committed to filling the 160 volunteer slots during the 3-month build.

Construction takes place two days a week and is currently at the halfway mark. In addition to praising those working on the project, VanderZanden thanked the many area businesses and individuals who have been supplying lunch and beverages to the workers. “The entire community has rallied around this first time build in New Holstein,” he said. “It’s just great to see the spirit of camaraderie that’s occurred as the build progresses.”

“This build really personifies what’s great about our Fox Valley communities,” said John Weyenberg, president and CEO of the Fox Cities Habitat. “We have Amerequip stepping forward with funding, their workforce jumping on board to supply the volunteer labor, and the future homeowner and their family working right alongside the volunteers. Without these types of community partnerships, we could not provide innovative housing options to address the needs of low-income families in our community.”

The Habitat build is expected to be complete in late August.
