Production Planner

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:  Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Planner supports all functions within supply chain department which effect planning and scheduling assigned work centers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Release suggested shop orders and factory orders within ERP System
  • Plan, schedule and maintain shop orders taking into account set-ups, materials and capacity if work center.
  • Publish and prioritize work center dispatch lists to enable shop order as well as customer on-time delivery of products.
  • Maintain workbench module within ERP system to ensure expedites, de-expedites, and cancellation messages are maintained.
  • Maintain work center capacity inputs within ERP system to ensure capacity is accurate.
  • Process Engineering Change Notices to ensure design revisions are up to date and in sync.
  • Support department objective of ensuring downstream operation is T – 1 day.
  • Create, publish and validate MPS to be reflective of capacity and material constraints.
  • Provide daily feedback to customer service of potential finished good delays.
  • Seek alignment of schedule and plan with production supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Requires a two year associates degree or five to seven years of related experience.
