1st Shift Warehouse Supervisor

We currently have an opening on 1st shift for a Warehouse Supervisor at our Kiel facility.

Under the direction of the Material’s Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor oversees the hourly workforce to ensure a safe workplace and effective receiving, material handling, and inventory control processes.  Customer specifications and delivery requirements are to be achieved, while in accordance with company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the assigned hourly production employees to ensure the control, movement, and provision of high quality parts and products is conducted in a manner that leads to margin enhancement.  Work as a team with other supervisors to fulfill staffing requirements.  Manage team across multiple shifts and coordinate interplant material movements and staff assignments.

Assign picking tasks and priorities for paint and assembly areas, factoring manufactured and purchased part availability against capacity and demands.  Schedules are constructed to meet 100% on-time delivery.

Support and enhance inventory accuracy improvement initiatives.  Conduct root cause investigations to determine and carry out effective corrective actions.  Lead team in proactive measures conducting audits of inventory locations and processes to ensure seamless supply of materials as required.

Effectively organize and control warehouses and optimize equipment travel/staff assignments.  Maximize throughput and minimize indirect labor costs of excessive material travel or process times.

Review parts shortages with area supervisors (and purchasing as applicable).  Conduct or assign appropriate search measures, escalating accordingly, and making schedule or inventory adjustments as appropriate.  Effectively and proactively communicate with internal customers throughout.  Follow-up with the supply chain to ensure parts arrive on time.  Coordinate appropriate material routing and expediting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years related experience; or two years of college and three to five years of progressively responsible experience.
